Great TV and Secrets

I am in love with the Journey of Faith DVD series.  We won the first one and the bookmobile had the second one, The New World.  The second one has special features--watch them too.  They should have been in the body of the film, but time constraints prevented it.  In the making of the DVD bonus feature, the lady in the black and white blouse said very succinctly exactly why I love the films; they don't make the Book of Mormon any more true, but they do make it more real.  They bring the stories to life.  Watch them, please, and then we can have an intelligent conversation about them.  You won't regret it, I promise.

I am also in love with Masterpiece on PBS.  Most recently they were showing Cranford and Return to Cranford with Judy Dench.  She is one of my favorite actresses.  With the turn of a head or a slight look in her eye she can steal the scene.  The story, however, is the scene stealer in this case.  Everyone does such an excellent job that the whole show is forever a classic in my eyes.

I have also been dong some thinking about secrets lately.  I can keep another's secrets forever, but if I have a secret I find myself blabbing it everywhere.  Why is that?  Why do I have the desperate need for everybody I know to understand everything about me?  I have some thoughts, but for now I will try to keep them a secret and not bore everyone with every detail of my life.  Why do you think that I am a blabber mouth?

  1. I think secrets should be kept for months!

  2. Hey, I don't think it's a bad thing to share your own secrets---it means you don't really have a need to keep false pretenses about yourself? And if you have the restraint to keep another's secrets that makes you an invaluable friend.
Thanks for the TV tips. I hadn't even heard of that DVD and we're always game for a good Sunday movie.

  3. You can tell Megz loves hearing the juicy deets! But honestly, who doesn't? We are all interested to know how people are the same or different from ourselves. But secrets- what are they, really? I say you either share them with everyone or don't share them with anyone. Too much liability for the one having to remember what's confidential.

  4. Thanks for the DVD recommendations!
I have been reading the "Great and terrible" series which really brings to life the pre-existence and "last days."
