6 weeks in the life of Michelle.

So, anyway, about 7 weeks ago, I was thrilled about our trip to Disneyland.  A couple days before we went, it hit.  Nausea beyond belief due to the pregnancy( it couldn't have waited a week)!  When we got to Disneyland we took advantage of the wheelchair because  the energy level was so low.  We still enjoyed the day, Bennett loved the adventure rides and Esther enjoyed the kiddie rides.  Since then the sickness had continued.  Coupled with the nausea was the ear infection that hit  with a vengeance on the way back from Cali.  So because of the pain, nausea and extremely low energy level, the Dr. suggested getting admitted to the hospital, and so there was a couple days of recovery there.    T took the day off on Monday so he could help out, and was able to make plans for taking care of the kids over the next couple days.  We are sure thankful for the good people in our ward.  Over the course of the last 6 weeks we have therefore been the recipients of the generous nature of family, ward members, and friends.  Even the Sister Missionaries have lent a helping hand.  We are thankful we can give these good people an avenue for  easy blessings.
We have also discovered improvements in medicine since 2 1/2 years ago.  There is an ear patch (looks like a  small band-aid) that slowly releases anti-nausea medicine.  That coupled with the prescription pill has made this pregnancy better than all the others( keeping in mind the other ones have been extremely bad).  The other day the whole family was able to enjoy Tacos.  Tacos of all thing!  There wasn't a chance that that would have flown with the others.    The only catch is that the patch leaves vision a little blurry, so reading is out of the question, and it is leaving a pretty good rash around the neck.  So anyway, that is what has been going on.  I know most of you already know this info, but I thought it could be addressed anyway. By the way, I thought I would write this as if I was Michelle(this is actually Trent), but without actually telling any falsehoods.  Reread this and tell me you found any slip-ups!  Sometimes I am sooooo clever.

  2. Totally thought it was Michelle! Hopefully she approved everything you wrote as her. I can hear Trent say 'tacos of all things!' more than Michelle though....
Glad some meds are helping more. Who is driving if her vision is blurred? Or do the people of Enoch need to be on the lookout?

  3. You really had me there Trent. I thought it was Michelle all along and I was feeling so glad she was up to blogging.
Thanks for the update. I'm so glad to hear about the patch. Blurred vision is a small price to pay for less nausea--that's what I say!

  4. glad to hear this pregnancy is better then the rest, so why do you need to be the easy avenue for others service if you are feeling better? I know I would want to do all I can for my own family.
Keep feeling better and loving all your kids, I'm sure things will get rougher with a baby about.

  5. Quick clarification to Megz-- Michelle does not drive. Period. If she did, The police chief (3 houses down) or the policeman who posts himself on our road might have something to say about it.
To anonymous: Maybe it sounded as if we are out begging for service from individuals. While it is true that occasionally I do have to ask for people to do specific tasks(getting to dr. appointments, helping w/ kids), most of the time they just come out of the wood work-- looking to help where they can. We are grateful for all who help.

  6. I thought Michelle was somehow managing to write and I was surprised since sitting up makes her feel super sick! I'm glad she found something that worked to eat the other day. Hang in there!

  7. Hey since you're feeling a wee bit better, come walking in the mornings. There has been walkers the last few days, same time frame. The fresh air might help and we don't even care if the kids are still in their pjs.
