What do you do when your baby is going through a growing stage? You watch Qubo Night Owl. He-Man, Shera, and Bravestar are all awesome choices. Bravestar has the eyes of a hawk, speed of a puma, strength of a bear and something else that make him the perfect lawman for the distant planet New Texas. Did you know that collecting living things is wrong? Taking living beings from their family and friends and keeping them aboard your spaceship in cages is wrong. Good life lesson.
What do you watch after Bravestar is over? A PBS special on a gay artist and his partner living in Big Sur. His work is absolutely beautiful. I wouldn't mind owning one of his bird sculptures or the window he did for the Masonic Temple. Too bad it is bigger than my whole house. Absolutely stunning. When it is over you try again to put the baby down. Success. If I get into bed and fall asleep immediately I will get three hours of sleep. No such luck.

I guess that is what Saturday mornings are for. Ah, not this one. I have Day Camp with B. I have to drive. So much for sleep. It is overrated anyway.
Sounds like my night with a 2 year old battling night terrors, ahh the joys of motherhood :)
ReplyDeleteMorning or night... It's probably morning if you're willing to begin your day then... but if you're hoping for sleep at that point I'm going to put it squarely in the night category.
ReplyDeletefor myself - 3 a.m. is a myth... having never seen it myself I refuse to believe it exists. Just like unicorns.
Okay, not true... precisely... I've been awake at that time of night (trying to get back to sleep) but since I didn't look at the clock I can still live my fantasy right?
Well, hopefully that stage will be short-lived so you can take some melatonin or lavender and fall into a blissful dream state full of non-gay hunks from the PBS movies.
ReplyDeleteI can't think that night television is worth staying awake for -- but the little one is -- though it doesn't make functioning during the day (which I don't think 3 a.m. qualifies as) any easier! I loved day camp the one time I went. I hope you will like it too.
ReplyDeleteI hate 3 am. But I think 5 am is slightly worse because it's so close to morning you know you're just going to have to get up again as soon as you fall asleep.
ReplyDeleteI guess it's good that you are still learning stuff about Masonic temple artists that time of night. An education is always beneficial even in the middle of the night.
