I have been lax in writing lately, okay for months, because I didn't get a computer turn and then got out of the habit. Now that I only have the two at home and have more time to do non-mommy things I decided to go to the gym. Everyone knows my physical struggles with my children and it has finally come to the point where I can no longer ignore the lasting effects.
Since I am 65 lbs over weight and 40.5% body fat I needed to get serious and get some serious help so that I don't get cancer, diabetes, or have a heart attack or a stroke. That really hurts to confess it to you, especially my husband's sisters because they don't have the same body type (naturally thin has never been something I could claim). So I am at the gym six days a week for at least an hour and today I was there for 90 minutes. I wanted to be there longer today, but the daycare can only take them for an hour and a half. I made a realistic goal to lose the weight in a year.
Here is a before picture that I absolutely hate of myself and will use it to see for myself the progress I am making. I have committed to go to the gym and have been doing do; it is the eating that I have trouble controlling. We'll see how I do today. Thanks for the support.
Always a good goal. I wish I had the ambition to go to the gym. I'll cheer for you from here though. GO MICHELLE!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat for you Michelle! Healthy goals are always important. And just so you don't feel like it's totally unfair- I have been a religious exerciser/watch what I eat-er since I was 17. It is a way of life. I'm sure genes help make things easier than for some others, but it is something I consciously have to work on!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can also try ballroom dancing with T for exercise. I've got a Red Hot Salsa dvd over here...
Great job. I hope you come to love the gym. I'm trying for smaller portion sizes to go with my slower metabolism. It's hard when the food is tasty!
