Weekend Fun

I received a phone call on Friday at 11 am telling me that I was not going to get to help my sister pick her wedding dress because she was going right then to do it.  She said she felt an urgency.  I cried for a little and then went about my day.  I received another phone call a couple of hours later telling me she couldn't decide and wanted my help.  I dropped everything and rushed up to SF.  Saturday morning I went up to Ogden and met her and her friend in a parking lot so we could meet up and go shopping.  After a frustrating and hoity-toity appointment, we went to another salon.  The first dress she tried on gave me chills.  She tried on several more and was almost in tears of frustration.  She tried on the first one again and we put a veil on her.  I started to cry and said, "It really is like 'Say Yes to the Dress'" then she started to cry.  She was/is lovely.  Of course I cannot show you a picture yet, but it is unlike anything I have ever seen and fits her desire for simplicity.  The reason she felt urgency was because it was the last day of all the clearance sales.
Another reason it was a good weekend was because my parents are putting their house up for sale this coming Friday.  They want to down-size and move back to Cache Valley.  JUB has an office in Logan and he can work from that office as easily as he could from the Orem office.  I am just a little jealous that they are planning to move next door to my sister and as far away from me as possible and still be in Utah, but I'll get over that.  They are doing what they feel is right and I cannot allow my desire to be near family deny them any happiness in their choice.  So I am just going to pray for a miracle that I make a million dollars on my book and we can pay off our house and move to St. George so we can be closer to work and family.  (Yeah, that's going to happen.)  I do know, however, that God is orchestrating my life and whatever happens will be a benefit to me someday.

On a happier note, here is a picture of Adam on his 4th birthday.  Ava is also adorable with cake and ice cream all over her face.

  1. Well, since it is a hard time to sell maybe your parents will be in the area for a long time, enough time for you to make your million.

    Happy Birthday Adam!
