We have had a very busy summer and I love the fact that we were able to do much of that as a family (with me sitting on the sidelines observing). We went camping, twice, on two different family reunions. Both were fun filled and busy. We are painting the Wilson family flag in the pic above. We feel incredibly blessed to be surrounded by two fabulous families. I don't have any pics of the other reunion because we cannot figure out how to upload/download (whichever) pics from our new camera. Could somebody please send us some? Thanks in advance.
Here we are setting off the triple bottle rocket launcher and candy cannon. I think my Dad had more fun than the kids. Here is Trent trying to keep Adam from dying on the zip line. We tied a mattress to a tree at the bottom (thanks for the idea Leon, it save many lives because the men kept greasing the line and they were flying) and nobody got hurt.
Julie won the bubble blowing contest, but she lost points, according to my mother, because she couldn't keep it off her face. By the end she had a very charming multi-colored beard and mustache. She's single fellas.
I have to recommend the 18 inch tall air mattresses. I have never been so warm or so comfortable camping in my whole life. Good times.
I have to recommend the 18 inch tall air mattresses. I have never been so warm or so comfortable camping in my whole life. Good times. At the end of the month I am going to my annual sister's weekend, in Salt Lake this time, and I am so excited. I do, however, need a babysitter for Friday for Ava and Adam, then after school, Esther and Bennett. Trent will be home after a couple hours. I have a bag of lovely MK products for the lovely taker of the babysitting job. It is worth over $100 (I need the help badly, if you couldn't tell) and you will love they way they work. Anyway, enough begging, we usually eat until we are sick, talk, and shop. There is a lot of laughter and bonding. Maybe someday we will get tired of the routine, but we haven't yet.
The thing I am most excited about is that my children are going back to school and Ava is starting Kindergarten. No that doesn't make me a terrible mother, just one who knows what her children need to be their best. They love school, not homework, and they come home so happy and full of the best things. Yahoo for school!
More later; it is good to be back.

I was wondering how you could endure so much camping in your delicate condition. I still think I would need your mattress and my own private tent 50 feet away from anybody else to enjoy the experience.
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your sisters weekend. Those are always fun.
Wow, there is my shock of the day. It is so good to see on and blogging again. I miss you guys. Glad to here that you are feeling a bit better. So is it a boy or girl?
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back...you better be back.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed you endured those camping trips as well.
Hey do you have some make-up for me? Ivory 204 was it? Bring the kids over, it's just a tiny road trip away right?
I'd be willing to help with the kids - but wouldn't be any help with the after school situation... :(
ReplyDeleteglad that the worst of it is over - good update!!!
