Dreams List

I don't like the idea of forming your life's dreams list around the concept of death.  So I don't have a bucket list, but a Dreams List.  I decided to make one because I went to a concert last night where the high schools in the area performed a song from their upcoming musicals and then OSU performed other selections from musicals as well.  I began crying during Les Miserables.  It wasn't because they were so good and I was moved to tears.  They were exceptional and I was so jealous I couldn't see straight.  It hurt even more that I am not that type of person and the emotion was so powerful that it came bursting out of me in public.  Public bursts of emotion are not new for me, but negative ones usually are not included.
I looked back on my life and wonder, "what if?"  Well, I can't turn back time, but I can have a Dreams List and make the most of the future.
           1.  Learn to play the violin and cello
           2.  Learn to sing like an angel
           3.  Write the many novels and children's books that are rolling around in my head
           4.  Get a Masters in Literature
           5.  Learn to clean my house
           6.  Go to Alaska
           7.  Learn to take a great photo
           8.  Paint my house inside and out
           9.  Plant a beautiful outdoor low maintenance garden area
         10.  Bench press 120 lbs
         11.  Become a lady
         12.  Go on a mission
         13.  See my sister marry in the temple
         14.  Become a grandma
         15.  Be in a musical
While learning to play musical pogo stick is not included in my dreams list, it is on Bennett's
Those are what I could come up with immediately.  I'm sure the list will get longer as I mature and accomplish more.  I am starting today with learning to play an instrument despite the lack of support and snarky comments.  We have a violin for Bennett and he refuses to go to orchestra.  I am going to trade the violin in for a full size one and get the old violin books from my mom that I used when I was ten and teach myself to play.  Wish me luck.

  1. Who would provide snarky comments when you're learning to play the violin?? That is a great goal, as the others on your list. And they all sound very attainable. Does Enoch have a community theatre you can be involved in?
