I am amazed that just a few changes in my life can extend the periods I feel like myself for several days. I have done many loads of laundry, cleaned my house (even when I didn't want to), gone to the gym, watched what I ate, lost at least four more pounds, fill in the blank miscellaneous things good moms do every day, gone to the temple, and written my first book, Pavo's Problem.
I am most pleased with my temple attendance, but a very close second is my book. I even drew the illustrations. Trent asked me if I knew I could draw and I hadn't previously, but I can now (sort of). The book is about a peacock whose feathers fall out so he feels too ugly to go to the dance.
I want Shadow Mountain to publish it so I am in the process of re-drawing the pictures and getting the manuscript ready for submission. Pray that it gets accepted so that the story will benefit society and we can pay off our student loans. If you want to read it, let me know and I'll get you a copy. I've asked the kids' kindergarten teacher to give me some feedback. If she likes it, then it is a winner and it will get published. Let's cross our fingers.
Wow! You've been up to good things. I'm totally impressed that you are the author/illustrator of a children's book. I want one.
ReplyDeleteThat is great! Good work on all your good works. Let's put a copy of your book at the homestead!
ReplyDeleteYou got it. I'll bring it on Thanksgiving (we aren't eating with this side of the fam though--we've got a big Wilson party going on and can't be in two places at once) for anyone who is interested.
