With the immortal words from A Christmas Story, little Randy announced the arrival of winter weather and over burdensome snow clothes. I realized today that I am woefully underprepared. My children have several pairs of gloves, boots, coats, hats, and scarves. My husband is equally prepared--he even has two winter coats, albeit one has a big rip.
I stepped outside my door to take my children to library day and discovered that mules are not winter clothing. I was wearing socks, something I hate to do with those shoes, but they provided little warmth when to snow soaked them. Wading around the car to clean it off in mid-calf drifts made me realize even more I need better winter clothes.
Please, Santa. Please. I need a single breasted red wool coat with good lines, a pair of black boots with zippers in front instead of laces so that I can get them on quickly to get A off the bus, a matching pair of gloves and hat. You see, Santa, I've been better this year than any other year in my life. I have accomplished more and done more than any time before, well maybe except while I was in college, but I digress. I definitely don't deserve the proverbial lump coal in my stocking. My kids aren't neglected and my house was sometimes clean. I'd like to be warm like little Randy and not be able to put my arms down because I am so bundled up.

That is a classy coat... and you would look so great in red... and you have been so good!
ReplyDeleteI love that movie! I am always quoting from it and no one know what I am talking about.
ReplyDeleteI think Santa needs to give you what you ask you have been a good girl ;)
I wore big ol' snow boots to pick the kids up from school today so i could carry them over the drifts. Wasn't stylish, but was oh-so-smart.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely get some good winter shoes and coat. Cold feet ruin my day.
I also don't have appropriate winter attire! I bet Santa will get you something nice and warm. You deserve it!
