Classes
1. Go to class (why pay the money if you don't get any benefit from them).
2. Study hard (again, don't waste this expensive opportunity to learn all you can to become a well rounded person).
Work
1. Working your way through school is normal.
2. No college job is something you want to do for very long.
3. Go anyway and do you very best.
4. Don't work too much (you are there to learn and have experiences, not miss out because you are a work-a-holic).
5. Learn to do without (be creative and thrifty).
Social
1. Always look your best.
2. Don't be creepy.
3. Be friendly but not a stalker.
4. Don't be afraid to show a guy you're interested, but let him ask you out first (it is a fine line to walk and you will eventually get the hang of it).
5. Go to FHE, ward prayer, ward activities, sporting events; get involved and have a life.
6. Always be developing new skills and talents.
7. Don't string a guy along. He would rather you were blunt and nice about it than if you just annoyed him to death.
8. Be honest with others and yourself. Be yourself around everyone, including guys you like. If they don't like the real you they don't really like you.
9. Exercise, eat healthy foods, bathe daily, brush your teeth, shave (you know, all the stuff you know you should do).
Apartment life
1. Be nice to your roommates.
2. Work out chores and cooking.
3. Learn a few really tasty, inexpensive meals and then invite men over for Sunday dinner.
4. Learn to bake a couple of really tasty treats.
5. Keep your room and living room clean.
Spiritual Life
1. Go to church.2. Do your visiting teaching.
3. Magnify your calling.
4. Pray, a lot.
5. Study your scriptures.
6. Attend institute.
7. Join ward choir.
More tips later. Enjoy your new freedom and new responsibility.

Oh, if only I could do it again...I for sure wouldn't leave nasty anonymous post-it notes for roommates who never bought the TP.....
ReplyDeleteI soundly second your advice. Except the part about making dinner for the men. Too much moolah and dishes if you're cooking beyond the Hamburger Helper and then word gets out that you feed men for free. Invite 'em over for rice krispie treats instead.
