Permanent Substitute

Did you know that I have another calling?  Unofficial of course.  It is permanent primary substitute teacher. I am called every week now that Sweet Boy is in Nursery.  I can count on one hand the number of times I've been in R.S. since he was 14 months old.  Sometimes I am called several times a week and I have to disappoint a few people.  There is only one of me you see, and I can't teach three classes at a time.  I have taught two classes combined before because they are close in age and both in junior primary.  But still, doesn't anyone else have a phone number?
Don't get me wrong, I love substituting.  I love primary.  I love teaching.  I'm just curious about why I am the only one who can substitute.  I talk to Big T and he said that it is because I'm special.  I don't know if he meant that I needed special Ed or not, but it made me feel good.  Anyway, I think it is such a great experience that I want other people to enjoy it, too.  So when that call comes say, "Yes!  I'd love to teach your class for you."  I promise you'll get blessings that you can't even speculate about.  Your testimony will grow and you will feel so loved by everyone involved.  Oh, I think I just answered my own question.  I guess I need the testimony boost and the blessings.  Never mind, don't say, "Yes!" Instead say, "Michelle would love to.  Call her."
Ok, this has nothing to do with today's post, but I think it is too cute not to share.

  1. Of course you're going to get a call because you say yes. Everybody loves those people. The only bummer is if you actually wanted to go to RS.
Maybe just not be around to answer the phone next weekend??
Sadly wards need lots more willing people like you to step in.

  2. Just got released from primary. It was hard when we needed a sub because no one on the darn sub list would actually do it. So we asked the same people over and over because they would do it. SO you are special(not special ed)

  3. Special indeed. How funny. I have a feeling I'm going to be in the same boat now that I've been released from YW.
