Blessing Day

It couldn't have gone better (well, maybe it could have if I had kept my inappropriate comments about breast-feeding to myself).  Several relatives arrived (sans wives), participated in the beautiful blessing, enjoyed a female filled testimony meeting, a tasty lunch, and funny conversation.  Then they endured a long drive home.  We thank those of you who made the sacrifice, especially the wives who couldn't attend and went to church with your passel of children sans husbands.  We missed those who could not attend because of other commitments, but knew you were with us in spirit.
Brandon, Quinn, Trent, J.D., Ross, Derek, Jordan

When the Chrisetensen relatives left my children decided it would be a good time for a cookie face race.
Esther was the only one to actually get the cookie into her mouth using only her face muscles.
Not to be outdone, every time her cookie fell, she would take a bite out of it and try again.
Bennett's cookie was way too big to achieve success, but he didn't care and had more fun than everybody else.
I love our family and it is always an enormously fun time when they are around.  I am sure if J.D. could talk, he would say he felt very loved and supported.

  1. glad that there was a good turn-out - of the men at least - and glad, for my own part, that the children of our family participated in your event since it would have been a bear to control them at the wedding!!

  2. That was a very thoughtful post and I loved the pictures. Apparently our travelers enjoyed themselves quite a bit and got home in record time (Derek said he had to go fast so he'd get home before he fell asleep). We were late enough to church to have to sit in the hard chairs -- which I was grumpy about -- but the meetings went well which was good.

  4. Sounds like a good time. I don't think I would have Esther beat in a cookie face contest.
