Scary

I am reading a book about a family with a teenage girl who gets too involved in a fake online relationship.  Fake in that he is a grown man not a teenage girl with a teenage boy cousin.  Creepy!  I told Big T about it and we feel the need to impose rules that are not needed now, but may be needed later on.  No chat rooms, no IMing anyone you do not know in person, no emailing anyone you have not met in person, and no myspace or facebook type accounts.  Even though it is in no way in the kids minds right now, I am scared for the future possibilities.  It is too easy to give out too much info over the internet that leaves you vulnerable to the sickos and crazies out there.  Another rule for life on and off the computer is if someone tells you not to tell your mom or dad about something then you know it is wrong and need to tell us immediately about it.  Lying about what you are doing is a huge no no.
Can you imagine a predator going after this face?  Neither can I, but you never know.  Self portraits never turn out the way you intend them to.

Another scary thing is that my little one gave himself a hickey last night.  Poor thing.  He wouldn't take his pacifier and I refused to be one.  If he would learn to suck his thumb it would be easier on his little wrist.

Thanks for all the advice for my mother, even Megz.  I think that I will combine a couple and an idea of my own.  I'll  let you know if it is a success.

  1. Wow, he must have had something really tasty on his arm to suck at it that hard!
It's true, we live in a scary world. I check Ike's school email account regularly just in case his friends start talking naughty.

  2. They have school email accounts? Wow! That is even scarier than I thought.
