I have decided to try out for a community production of Hello Dolly. I haven't done this since high school and I am terrified. I need 16-20 bars of a song, a short monologue, and to come with comfortable clothes to dance in. Ahhhh. I've never had to try and dance at an audition before. I hope they see that I can be graceful in the future and not see a bumbling fat chick trying to reclaim her youth.
I am a little afraid of failing because I live in a city of talented people and college students. I just hope they are too busy with school to want to prance around a stage in period costumes. I want this because I need a reason to be active. I need something to do outside the house that is not shopping. I need something in my life that makes me happy. I need something fun.I need something to do until classes start in the fall. Yes, I recieved my acceptance letter. I am now waiting for a scholarship so I can attend.
Congrats on getting accepted, and good luck on your audition! I hope you get to have a part, and that you enjoy it. If not, try again next time. You're smart to try to find something to get you out for a bit and keep you busy with a good thing.
