They might get their need for over-sharing from their mother. I embarrassed my sweet hubby with the messy picture of our laundry room yesterday and I wondered why. He is much more private than I am; a product of his upbringing. Another is that you do not air your "dirty laundry" for others to see. My position is that everyone has "dirty laundry" and if we spend less time being embarrassed that we have it and just take care of it in a way that helps more than just you then it is a positive thing instead of a negative one.
Most people do not take this view. That's fine with me. Everybody is probably more private than me and that is a good thing. There can't be too many like me or the world would explode. So here's to airing your "dirty laundry" and over-shares.
Tell Berbs it's a sign of self confidence to post dirty laundry; the rest of us are way too scared of public scrutiny. And we all know that pride is of the devil.
ReplyDeleteBums are funny. Haven't you seen the picture on your side bar?? That you posted? Tell your kids to get a little more creative with lighting and stuff and maybe they can win Reflections in the photo cateogry.
Ha ha! I love it. Isn't the Reflections theme next year "wow" or something similar? They can win with their bum shots.
ReplyDeleteYou know- I think you can overshare if you are comfortable with it and don't regret it later. I love having real conversations with people, when we let it all hang out, as long as I know them enough..and at least you weren't doing close ups on dirty undies!
Ha! I love the laundry photo and the bums! You're kids are proud of their "other cheeks" as they should be.
ReplyDeleteI admire people who are honest like you. I only like to post the "after" photos. My laundry room looks similar and I don't have a baby to take care of.
Dan takes lots of pictures but I don't think he's done bums --just feet and backs and random pieces of furniture or different "grounds" (carpet, grass, linoleum). It's funny that they take them and you get the surprise later. Dan comes and shows me all of his handywork so I can admire his brilliance with the camera. As for showing your laundry room -- I'm agreeing with all of the nice people who have commented already.
