Pack Night

Tip 1:  Never make homemade onion rings right before pack night.  You will smell like a greasy spoon all night.
Tip 2:  Know the song your den is singing for their part of the evening.
Tip 3:  If there are going to be balloons, don't let your kids think they get one when the night is over because the cub scouts will just steal it out from under your nose anyway.
Tip 4:  Sew your badges on correctly.
Tip 5:  Buy a shirt that fits and is not two sizes too big just because it is the only one not too small at the scout store.
Tip 6:  Cupcakes are messy.
Tip 7:  Rarely do the scouts (or some of the leaders) stay to help clean up.
Tip 8:  Get a babysitter.

Other than that it was an excellent success and our Cub Master is excellent at her calling.  I never knew scouts was so much fun.

  1. You're going to be so ready for B when he's of age...
Our pack night was last night and I am just lovin' the half-baked skits and strange cheers we do. And how each scout thinks it's their duty to take at least 4 cookies before anyone else gets one. And yes, it's easier to leave the wee ones home.

  2. I could totally picture you loving scouts. It takes a special kind of energy, that's for sure! And onion rings? I bet that's a stinker.
