Thanks for the prayers, it really helped. My mind was opened and I remebered what I was supposed to say without looking at my notes too much. I felt the Spirit come over me and I knew that He was helping me, even if I didn't deserve it, because my performance was for the benefit of all and not just me. What a blessing! I need to do things like that more often. It feels so great to not fail at something you love doing. In my every day life I feel like a failure because I am not good at it. I was not given those types of gifts, but I can pretend. Pretending the house isn't dirty or that the laundry is done hasn't helped me or my family much. So, thank you, thank you, thank you for helping me feel like a success.
My ward has Lunch Ladies today. We go to Sizzler and eat and talk for quite a while. When Trent lost his job a neighbor took me bevcause she felt I needed to get out of the house. I made so many friends there. I got to know the more mature generation through these lunch dates and fell in love with them. I feel like they are almost family. I visit teach the lady who spearheads our lunches together. She has been trying to sell her lovely home for three years. She has finally done so and is moving in a couple of weeks. My heart is breaking. How am I going to learn how to be a perfect lady if she is not around to teach me. She is from the South and should have been named Grace. She exudes gentility, grace, and refinement; much like my mother-in-law. She never says anything mean or unkind and she has control over herself. I guess I'll just have to remember her and learn from those memories. I will miss you, Mary.
On a completely unrelated note, I am in charge of the food for my sister's wedding shower. What should we eat? The only direction given was chocolate. We have to have something else, right? The party starts at 11 and at 2 we are going to my cousin's wedding shower. They are on the same day so that the family doesn't have to travel twice. With that in mind, any suggestions? I was thinking Mexican wedding cookies, finger sandwiches, chocolate chip cookies, fruit and veggie trays, punch, and chocolates. What do you think?

Yay Michelle! I would have liked to have seen you in your new dress playing a part that you liked. I'm glad you did well. I'm super glad you are feeling better too. Feeling well helps everything. I'm sorry your friend Mary is moving. That was a nice tribute to her and the good people you met at "Lunch Ladies". As for food suggestions I'm pretty sure I'm not the one to give recommendations. Your plan sounds good, but like a lot of work! Chocolate fountains are fun too if you know someone who has one.
ReplyDeleteI think your menu idea sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteWay to go on your debut! That's super awesome!!
