Donation and Lia Spohia

After I finished at the dentist with my mouth numbed for one of the cavities I went to the library to hunt up a new author.  I really should read my SIL's book blog.  I found the new Brandon Mull book before it went into circulation in the book mobile.  I am the first taker!  Wahoo!  So I showed it to Big T and he took it to work to read.  Yes, I am generous that way, contrary to popular opinion.  I came home and dealt with my motherly duties all day.

When I made dinner I messed it up thinking that it wouldn't matter if I made a rue first.  It matters.  Baby was crying, A and Sweet boy were running in my small kitchen and fighting.  B was supposed to be doing his homework, but whining about it, and E was supposed to be doing her chores, but was getting "distracted" by the TV that nobody was supposed to be watching after I ordered it off.  Big T came home and immediately sat down at the computer to listen to the game, that they lost BTW.  I'd had it.  Without eating my ruined soup I packed up the Baby and left for a Lia Sophia party a little early.  I decided to go feed the Baby at the church in peace and quiet.  To my surprise, a blood donation drive was going on.  I fed the Baby quickly and asked if I could donate despite all my issues.  I was o.k.ed and began the process.  The ladies were so enamored with Baby that it took forever to get me going.  I finally sat in the donating cot and began my donation.  Six minutes and three seconds later I was eating a cookie and drinking orange juice.  That was a good cookie.  I felt better.  Giving to others helps you forget about yourself and calms the soul.  I showed up at the party twenty minutes late and was the first, and only, guest.  Too bad.  I loved the stuff and got carried away.  I bought this:
I wear a lot of silver but my wedding ring is gold, so I got this bracelet to tie them together.
This necklace was just too pretty on me to pass up.  Green is my favorite color and will match almost everything I wear to church.
Because I bought the other two, this one was 50% off.  Yahoo!  I can wear it several different ways.  I can wear it long, doubled up, or linked together to make a dangling charm necklace.  All three ways looked great with my fat neck and made it look slimmer.  Wow!  I had no idea jewelry could do that for me.  I guess I'll wear it more often.  Because I bought the other three I got this for a screaming deal:  83% off.  It works the same as the reflections necklace.  It is mother of pearl and should match everything I own (almost).  Now I have no excuse to look plain at church.
After soothing my soul with giving and spending, I went home and smiled at my husband and enjoyed the rest of the evening.  I highly recommend such an evening for you.

  4. I don't donate blood on the fly. It takes lots of guilt trips and brainwashing to willingly let someone put a needle in me.
The jewelry is great. I can't imagine getting that many necklaces in one evening. Winning! (as Charlie Sheen would say)

  5. awesome - I've always avoided Lia Sophia parties assuming that the prices were out of my price range... but it sounds like there were screaming deals to be had. (ManOfTheHouse will not be happy that I've realized this... oops)

last time I tried to donate blood they laughed at me... and told me I had to go drink some juice or they were likely to call my doctor. I hadn't even given blood. of course ManOfTheHouse gets called every 6 months because they WANT his blood... and he must be related to Megz because it takes a LOT of cajoling to make him part with it :)
