Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!

My dear friend threw a Dr. Suess birthday party for play group yesterday.  Too bad most of the group was sick and couldn't come.  Her family gave her a cupcake cookbook and she made the cutest cupcakes.  They were also very tasty.  Look for the pictures on her blog--I forgot to take some before the feast began.  Thank you for the fun party.
We read books to them when they started to fight.    The Dr. Suess books did not hold their attention for very long--what is wrong with them?  Then we read them a book about crab spiders and how their venom liquifies the insides of its prey.  Gross, but they loved it.  Go figure.
Friend in his personal space.
Threat to shoot her.  He's not around other kids much.

I spent the day shopping like a maniac.  Sweet Boy did not want to be involved with the effort and threw a huge fit.  He wanted to go to Del Taco.  Was not going to happen.  I finally found an outfit that would do and then we went to Wal-mart (oh, how I wish I had another choice) for the rest of the things we needed for the rest of the week.  With the cart full, Sweet Boy had a seat on the two boxes of diapers.  Do you see the inevitable end to this story?  Yes, he stood up and fell flat on his back out of the cart then hit his head.  He cried for a while then stopped.  He was over it and I worried he had a concussion when he fell asleep in the car.  I called my RN sister and she said he was fine, but to watch him.  What a tank!
I was thrilled when B said he wanted his birthday dinner so that I didn't have to cook or do dishes.  I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning and did not want to do another load of dishes.  We went to La Fiesta.  Great service, great food, and great company.  We all enjoyed our meals and B was presented with fired ice cream in a chocolate drizzled tostada bowl.  B said, "This is the best birthday restaurant ever!"  Well, that is high praise, indeed; especially from someone who eats his boogers.
I have to get ready for the party, now.  Oh, well.  At least my spring cleaning efforts will not go to waste.

  1. Ha Ha and ewwww.
I was able to go to Target the other day in SL and let me tell you, after months and months of W-mart, Target seemed like the celestial kingdom: the workers were angels and there were towels in every color of the rainbow! How I wish we had one here.
We're excited to see B. for his birthday tomorrow.
