Happy Valentine's Day

Big T and I have not been on a date for a very long time so we called a babysitter and took J.D. to his first dance.  He was the most poplar partner there.  Slow dancing with a baby on your arm is as fun as it is without him.
Our stake throws a Valentine's Day dance every year.  This time they went all out.  There was a live band, a room with board games, and a room with two wiis set up.  The food was fantastic!  Big T and I even participated in a charleston class/contest.  A few more minutes of practice and we might have been considered coordinated.  Needless to say we did not make the finals.

The most fun of the night was dressing up.  At the last minute we decided to participate in the "dress up in your favorite decade" contest.  We knew we had nothing so we just winged it.  I had a ratted side ponytail and I put an elastic around my long t-shirt.  Big T pegged his pants and tucked in his t-shirt.  He tried to have a funky do, but alas, he has less hair than he did in the 80's.  I forgot all about blue eye shadow and huge earrings.  Oh well,  our friends didn't and they won a prize for their costumes.  We didn't recognize them until they sat down at our table.

Most of our ward members just enjoyed the live band or the game rooms.  The husbands didn't even want to be in my picture--the stinkers.

We had to leave early because we didn't want to turn our babysitter into a zombie.  I don't remember ever having so much fun at a dance.  Way to go whoever was in charge and provided such a fun activity for the adults of the area.

  3. I'm glad you had a good Valentine's adventure! That sounds like fun. I like that you didn't let having baby J.D. stop you from slow dancing!
