What a Weekend

I don't have pics to go along with this post, so here are some random fun/naughtiness photos instead.
So I woke up with the idea that I really did not want to stay home from the baptism because I crashed my car.  I quickly called St. George BIL and got a ride for E.  Then I got ready in record time so we could squeeze the rest of us into the Honda for an 1 1/2 drive to Richfield.  Seeing as how we were late because of me, we drove faster than I thought would be humanly possible for that little car filled to the brim.  I realized that the men were definitely brothers when St. George BIL passed us because we weren't going fast enough to make it on time.  YIK ES!  So we arrived 10 minutes late, walked in quietly, and only missed the prayer and song.  I think it is a miracle that we survived at all.   Can you get arrested after the fact or do you have to be caught in the act?  If you can, I am turning myself in.
The baptism was lovely and the little boy that was in their ward had to be baptized twice because his uncle reversed his first and middle names.  Uncle Brandon explained to all the kids the importance of getting things right when preforming an ordinance.  Then I told the story of my mother needing to be baptized four times:  her hair floated up, her toe floated up, her father said the prayer wrong he was so flustered, and then the fourth one took.  Whew.  Little cousin B looked beautiful and if I had heard the confirmation it would have been spiritually filling as well.  You see, my children were fighting the whole time.  Shocker.
The fun with family came afterward after lunch, most of the family went downstairs to watch the kids play Just Dance 2 on the wii.  I now know what to get E for her upcoming birthday.  All of the kids were hilarious, including a St. George cousin in drag, and even a couple of adults joined in the fun.  So wish I had thought to get the camera out of the car.  Just look at sweetnsassy6's blog for the pics.
We drove home at a respectable speed and arrived home in time to tidy up a bit to prepare for Sunday.  We were miraculously on time and endured one of the worst behaved Sacrament meetings we have had in a very long time.  After a RS lesson on keeping the Sabbath day holy, we came home and watched the Superbowl.  Go Packers!  My favorite commercial was the one with Ozzy and Bieber.  "What's a Bieber?  I think it is sort of like a girl."  Too funny.  During the Superbowl E threw a huge fit and was sent to timeout.  It was too quiet so we checked on her.  She had slipped out her window and run away with her bike.  Groan.  I thought we were over that.  She eventually came home and was in trouble again.  We told her that there are places where she can go to be alone, but we cannot keep her safe if she goes outside and we cannot see her.  Let's hope this is the last time she disappears.
After all of that I need another weekend to recover from this last one.  Too bad it is Monday and I won't get another one for a week.  That is the only trouble with weekends, you have to go through the whole week before you get one.

  1. Weekends wear me OUT - especially this last one... but probably because it came on the heels of the insanity of the week :) Can't wait to see some of those pics... and be mortified at my son's behavior...

  2. She's just like her dad! Except I don't think he crawled out windows, he just ran away a lot.
I didn't know you were super bowl people. I really just wished I could have DVRd the commercials...

  3. You're not guilty unless your caught, right? he he he.
So glad you all came up for B's day.
I wouldn't have pegged you as a superbowl fan. Is it more for the football or the commercials. I would watch it for the latter.

  4. I want to watch a superbowl for the eats. Maybe next year. I know Russell doesn't give a fig.
That is funny E runs away! You'll need a window alarm.
