The term, "Go put it away in the storage area," meant, "Throw it on the floor," in parent to kid translation. Everything is off the floor! It is even vacuumed and the honey spills are washed off. Yeah! The stuff was so deep you couldn't see the bottom shelves. Now things are sort-of organized and on the shelves. I am so thrilled.
On Saturday and yesterday I spent my time doing this:
Notice the floor? Notice there are organizers in place? I only have about fifteen more loads and then my laundry room will be clean! It has taken me a month or so to get it to this point. By next week you will see a pristine laundry room. We have five or six garbage bags ready for DI. I had no idea we were so out of control. I figure that as soon as the laundry is taken care of and systematically kept up the rest of the house will not be such an overwhelming mountain of dread. Remember what it used to look like?
Big improvement, huh? This mess did not include all the clothes all over the house. The cleaner version does include all of the laundry. Way to Go! Yes, I needed the self-pat on the back today because I had to pray myself out of bed. Maybe I will do something before the Blue and Gold banquet tonight. Maybe I'll even sew B's patches on his brand new scout shirt. He is so excited to be flipped upside down to have his Bobcat pinned on upside down so that he can earn it and have it turned right-side up. I'll be sure to take pictures of his grin of glee that I and certain will appear on his face when dangling in the air by his feet. Until then, enjoy whatever efforts you must make today to get through the day.
That is a great job on the organizing! I always have to do lots of self back-patting since sometimes I am the only one who knew how much time and effort it took for me to get 'er done.
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting tradition with the upside down scouting....I don't know if my boys would have liked it!
Hey, You deserve lots of pats on the back. I love that you could pray yourself out of bed and that you are making progress with the laundry organization and that you were so positive on your blog. The storage room area is always a dreaded job around here because even I tend to dump things on the floor after I buy them because I'm in a hurry. I hope B smiles really big for his upside down picture and that you have a very nice day.
ReplyDeletelooking good. You deserve that pat on the back.
ReplyDeletemy kids translate the "put it away in the storage room" exactly the same way... thus necessitating my daily trek down there to see if I can get to the food storage shelves. Today? not so much... I guess I should learn not to send holiday decor down there with young children :)
ReplyDeletegood work... it will happen, and it WILL get easier :)
