We enjoyed stake conference yesterday. We sat in the back, of course, because the cushy seats were full a half an hour before the meeting started. It was enlightening and fulfilling, the parts that I heard, and I can away motivated instead of depressed that I wasn't doing enough. We are going to have a more formal family prayer. Yes, we pray as a family all the time, but now we are going to gather for "Family Prayer" before bed. I think that actually calling it family prayer will help the kids understand that is what we do anyway. The more blunt we can be about spiritual topics the better they will sink in, especially in today's society.
On a very different note, I HATE my dishwasher. It doesn't actually clean anything. Take a lesson from us; when choosing an appliance never ever, ever, ever, ever pick the cheapest one (not that we had a choice). Do some research and get something that works that is in your price range. For example, I LOVE my stove and fridge. I was able to choose those and we waited for a sale. Having appliances that fit the way you live your life helps you be happy, believe it or not. Being in love with your appliances makes your life so much easier so that you can focus on learning and growth when you do your work and not how much you hate doing the work.
(Actually Megz from different account) Maybe we can have a competition to see who has the worst dishwasher. I took mine apart once to clean it to see if that would make a difference but it didn't. Definitely agree that some things you shouldn't go for cheapest!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got inspired from Stake Conf---that makes the two loooong hours worth it.

ReplyDeleteSorry- i hated my typo.
ReplyDeleteWell- you know what to do if your dishwasher ain't workin'- kick him in the pants! (ha ha)
But really, it is a pain to wash all your plates, utensils by hand. Our dishwasher is relatively new and it still is disappointing a lot of the time. It's like I have to rinse the dishes practically all the way clean and then put them in! What's the point of doing most of the work myself if I have a dishwasher that is supposed to do it for me??
Our dishwasher stinks! I have been washing dishes by hand for almost a year now. I think I should just invest in a good dishwasher. It sure would save me a lot of time.
