Up, Up, and Away

My only brother, my youngest sibling, left for Air Force boot camp in San Antonio, Texas yesterday.  He is leaving his new baby and young wife so that he can provide a secure future for them.  I am reminded of the early saints when they had to leave their families, sometimes in destitute conditions, so that they could do what the Lord called them to do--go on missions.  Well, he is going on a different type of mission; one that will protect the freedoms that, we in Utah forget, are not free.  His job will not involve fighting--although boot camp will involve learning to shoot a gun.  He, I think, will monitor missiles in space.  I'm not sure because he isn't allowed to talk about it.  Confidential, top secret, type of stuff now will be a part of my life (sort of) and I don't think I will ever know for sure what he is up to.  I am very proud of my brother and I pray that he will have the courage to stick it out, not ring that bell, and all of that not giving up stuff.  I'll be praying for you.
